Overview
In OptimiBI, administrators can create new users and assign a User Type during the creation process. The selected user type determines the user's permissions within the system.
1. Accessing User Management
- Log in to the OptimiBI Admin Panel.
- In the left-side menu, click “User Management”.
- Select “Create User” to add a new user or edit an existing one.
2. Configuring User Information
In the user editing interface, fill in the necessary details:
- Login Name: The unique identifier for the user.
- Password: Can be manually set or left blank for the user to set it.
- Name: The user’s full name.
- Email: The email address used for system notifications.
- Company, Department, Title: Optional fields that can be filled in as per organizational needs.
3. Selecting a User Type
Choose the appropriate User Type from the dropdown menu:

User Type | Permissions |
---|---|
Reader (View-Only) | Can only view reports, dashboards, and data but cannot create or edit content. |
Creator (Content Creator) | Has Reader permissions plus the ability to create and edit content. |
Administrator (Admin) | Has full access, including user, permission, and system management. |
Note: User types can be modified later by an administrator in the User Management interface.
4. Assigning Business Roles (Optional)
- Business Roles allow further refinement of user permissions, such as restricting access to specific data or functionalities.
- Business roles can be combined with User Types for more granular permission control.
5. Submitting and Saving User Information
- Ensure all user details are correctly filled out.
- Click "Submit" to finalize user creation.

User Type | Suitable For | Primary Use |
---|---|---|
Reader | Business users, executives | Viewing reports and data only. |
Creator | Data analysts, report designers | Creating and modifying data content. |
Administrator | IT admins, system operators | Managing users, data sources, and system configurations. |
